Daggerheart
What is Daggerheart?
Daggerheart is a TTRPG designed for one Game Master (GM) and up to five players. Sessions usually run about 2-4 hours, and you can play it as a quick one-shot adventure or dive into a long-term campaign full of character growth and storytelling.
Like most TTRPGs, the GM guides the world—describing scenes, shaping the story, and controlling the challenges your heroes face. The players bring their characters to life, reacting to whatever surprises and twists the GM throws their way.
When the outcome of an action isn’t certain, it’s time for an action roll using the game’s unique Duality Dice system. You’ll roll two twelve-sided dice (d12s)—one representing Hope, the other Fear. Add your modifiers, compare the total to the Difficulty set by the GM, and see how fate falls.

If you meet or beat the Difficulty, you succeed; if not, you fail—but there’s always more to the story. The dagger heart d12 die that rolls higher (Hope or Fear) shapes the tone of the moment, either earning Hope tokens for players or giving the GM Fear tokens to heighten the tension later on. Besides using a standard set of 7 polyhedral dice, many outcomes are determined by rolling one or more d12 dice.
It’s a system that blends strategy, storytelling, and emotion, making every roll feel like a cinematic moment in your character’s journey.
How to use Daggerheart d12 dice as a player
Duality Dice
Two d12 dice of different colors. Choose one to represent Hope
and one to represent Fear.
Action Rolls
Most rolls you make will be action rolls. They use the Duality Dice. Roll them together, add any modifiers that apply, and tell the GM the total, as well as what die rolled higher.
When to roll d12s as a Game Master
Besides rolling one or more d12s to determine attack damage from melee or spells, the Game Master often gets to roll on random loot tables.
Loot comprises any usable items the party acquires that can be used until sold, discarded, or lost. To generate a random item, choose a rarity, roll the designated number of d12 dice, and match the total to the item in the Loot table found in the SRD or Rulebook:
• Common: 1d12 or 2d12
• Uncommon: 2d12 or 3d12
• Rare: 3d12 or 4d12
• Legendary: 4d12 or 5d12
Random items are numbered from 1-60.
We offer many color matched sets of 7 dice with optional single d12s.
